Banded agates are found throughout the world. In the United States it is predominantly found in several western states; Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana which are the chief sources because of the cavities in eruptive rocks or ancient lavas. However, just because they are generally more easily found than other gemstones, that doesn’t mean they’re less valuable. Each genuine stone is unique in and of itself and not identically duplicated.
This impressive agate is black, white, and has a brownish gold translucent band along one side. The cord is black with golden lobster clasp and chain for adjustments, and the agate is decoratively wire-wrapped.
