Description

This beautiful Quartz necklace is called ‘Black Rutile Quartz’ because of the natural black, needle-like Rutile crystals formed inside of it. The silver wire wrap is woven in a basket weave and its all displayed nicely with a coordinating black cord. When its held up to the light, it has an entirely new look which I’ve tried to show in my pictures. That means this unique stone also picks up the background colors of whatever fabric you’re wearing.

Black Rutile Quartz is most often found in Sierra Leone in Africa. However, its also found in other parts of South Africa, Switzerland, Brazil and Madagascar. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5.
