Description
This amazing Trapiche (pronounced tra·PEE·che) Amethyst pendant necklace is one of my favorites. Hold it up to the light and you’ll see why. It has needle-like or ‘arm’ inclusions in it that are darker purple than the rest of the stone which makes it even more valuable than a regular Amethyst. The International Gem Society states: “Since the geological conditions necessary to create these gems are uncommon, trapiches are some of the rarest specimens on Earth.”
Because I wanted to let the beauty of the stone show through, I’ve used lighter gauge wire to wrap this necklace in a connecting cascading pattern in silver and coordinated it with a sturdy silver chain. This is a harder stone which measures 7 on the hardness scale.
